What the White House is Talking About:
President Trump today signed the Dodd-Frank rollback, and later he hosts an event in the East Room to present the Medal of Honor to former Navy SEAL Retired Master Chief Special Warfare Operator Britt Slabinski.

What the White House Press Corps is Talking About:
Trump saying this morning on Fox News that NFL players who don't stand for the national anthem "maybe [you] shouldn't be in the country."

Here's what we know so far. Yesterday, lest we forget, a senior North Korean government official called Vice President Mike Pence a "dummy," and threatened nuclear war.

Also, North Korea apparently just blew up part of its nuclear test site yesterday  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Administration to Hold Confidential Briefings Today:
The Department of Justice holds two meetings today, both attended by Trump chief of staff John Kelly, to discuss the use of a confidential intelligence source in the campaign. There are two meetings because the second one is bipartisan and includes the Gang of Eight; the first meeting is just for GOP lawmakers.

But Trump's All "Spy, Spy, Spy":
The President keeps saying the word "spy" to define the intelligence source, which is sort of tomato-tomahto, but he's also this morning repeating the claim that James Clapper admitted there was a "spy" in his campaign, which he actually didn't. Clapper was on CNN yesterday to say Trump was mucking it up: "That is a distortion of what I said, in fact I had an aversion to the use of the term." When asked outright if the intelligence community spied on Trump and his campaign, Clapper said, "No, we did not."
Jeff Flake, Tell Us How You Really Feel:
Last night, Sen. Jeff Flake unloaded on Trump -- he's been an adversary for the past several months. Flake was giving the commencement speech to Harvard Law grads when he assessed the state of the presidency: "Not to be unpleasant, but I do bring news from our nation's capital. First, the good news: Your national leadership is ... not good, at all. Our presidency has been debased. By a figure who has a seemingly bottomless appetite for destruction and division. And only a passing familiarity with how the Constitution works.... Now, you might reasonably ask, where is the good news in that? Well, simply put: We may have hit bottom. Oh, and that's also the bad news. In a rare convergence, the good news and bad news are the same: Our leadership is not good, but it probably can't get much worse."

Thoughts?

The shoot took place earlier this year in DC by Miller Mobley, says a press release from the publisher. Obama also stuck with her usual glam squad of Carl Ray (makeup), Meredith Koop (wardrobe stylist) ad Yene Damtew (hair). Also, is hand-on-chin a new signature pose for her?

I Applaud This:
I can't put the headline because it's a bad word and we are a family newsletter, but the New York Times piece with the (previously beloved) cast of "Arrested Development," was alarming, to say the least. So I really appreciated this response. I'm also glad Jason Bateman apologized, but still.

Dress Like the First Daughter:
For meetings yesterday at the White House, Ivanka Trump wore Zara again. I do love it when she wears Zara, you guys. This skirt is actually great, and it's available here for a steal at $49.90.
