On GPS at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. ET on CNN: First, Fareed gives his take on the asylum crisis the US faces on its southern border. Democrats have spent most of their energy attacking President Trump for his heartlessness on immigration, Fareed says, but the problem is real. Numbers of asylum seekers have risen sharply, and the system needs fixing. If the crisis persists, Fared argues, Trump's harsh rhetoric may only gain more traction. Next, a panel of Eurasia Group President and founder Ian Bremmer, CNN National Security Analyst Samantha Vinograd, and New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman will discuss Trump's latest meeting with Kim Jong Un and his venture onto North Korean territory. Fareed will then interview Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, Majid Takht Ravanchi, about tensions between his country and America—and where things might go from here. Next, our panel will discuss the US-Iran standoff and the recent G20 summit in Osaka. Finally, Fareed interviews white nationalist Jared Taylor. You can see more of the interview in Fareed's CNN special report, "State of Hate: The Explosion of White Supremacy." Tune into CNN tonight at 8 pm ET for its premier; the documentary examines the deep historical roots of white nationalism in America, how they've developed through the decades, and the urgent need to confront white-supremacist ideology today. | |
