Yes, you can eat sweet food while avoiding sugar

Just because you’re cutting out added sugars doesn’t mean you have to forgo all sweet food. Plenty of fruits (and even vegetables) are naturally sweet tasting, and can be used to sweeten a recipe. For example, mixing shredded carrots into a homemade marinara sauce can balance the acidic tomatoes and salt. Or soaking a few mashed dates in unsweetened almond milk makes a great base for oatmeal or another breakfast grain. And, fresh or frozen fruit in smoothies is a great way to sweeten your drink without adding sugar. Find more suggestions on cooking without added sugars here.
